Every great coffee has an origin story, and Daye Bensa's story begins in 2006, when brothers Asefa and Mulugeta Dukamo looked at the Sidama region and saw not just land, but potential. What they built — 16 washing stations, 4 dry mills, and an operation defined by timeliness and precision — is a quiet masterpiece of Ethiopian coffee infrastructure.

At the heart of it all is the Qunqa Mill, where meticulous processing isn't a talking point but a daily discipline. Whole cherries are laid out to sun-dry for up to 15 days — unhurried, deliberate, and rewarded with a flavor profile that is equal parts sweet and complex, the kind that makes you set your cup down just to think about it for a moment.

The coffee itself — Durato Bombe — carries a name that tells its whole story. Named for both the village where 626 dedicated farmers tend their trees and the mountain those trees grow on, this is a coffee with a genuine sense of place. The Bensa Woreda of the Sidama zone isn't just a geographic footnote; it's the reason this cup tastes the way it does.

Mountain, village, farmer, mill — a one stop shop, in every sip.
